Black and White photo from 1938

I just found this photo on facebook. I have the same photo but mine has been worked on and is in better shape.
It is a photo of my dear Grandpa and his snow car. I have heard many stories of my grandpa driving doctors to many homes when babies were being born etc. We have an abbey in our home town and sometimes he would drive the monks across the frozen lake.
I love black and white photos. I loved my Grandfather so very much he and I had such a loving relationship. Right now I am typing this on his roll top desk. Memories are so very important I think of him every day. He taught me a lot of things. He gave me the basics. Treat everyone with respect, forgive, never lie....there are no excuses for lying. My grandfather saw his mother killed on a bridge by a run away team. She pushed her two children to safety and died saving them. It was a large family by todays standards. The were 6 little boys left to be brought up by their father. He married a bit later and had one daughter with her. Life was pretty tough back then.
Yes I am still stitching but I am working on Christmas ornaments right now.
Stay tuned I promise to post something soon.

Jean and Earle

Today was a very sad day for our family we buried my husband's parents. Jean and Earle were a wonderful couple, a couple who were totally devoted to each other and to their children and to their family. Earle passed away 2 years ago and Jean passed away on November 10, 2011. They were buried today with their loving family close by. Father Keith was their with us and the ceremony was beautiful. They would have been so proud, their family will not be the same, but we will try to live their lives to there standards. I cannot say much more at this time, more will come later. Thank you to all those who came together to say good bye today. We really needed you and your hugs and kind words will stay in our hearts forever.

Priscilla Jean Buzzell

Yesterday was the end of a wonderful life, my Mother-In-law passed away. She was born on August 10, 1930. Here was a lady who loved life and her family was everything to her. She would often say as long as our family is together that is the only thing that matters. She lived to be 81 years young.
Two years ago she lost the love of her life her dear husband Earle. It was an extremely tough time for her. They had been together more than 60 years. She tried her hardest to cope with life with out him, but it was a trial.
For the past month her health deterioted very quickly and on November 10th at 6:30 Earle came to her and took her home. My daughter Sarah said, "Mom the angels are dancing with them now. Look at Grampa he has a huge grin from ear to ear. They are together again, isn't it a wonderful thing?
This week we will bury them in a beautiful cemetary with big beautiful maple trees. It is the perfect place for a perfect couple.
Safe journey Priscilla Jean and Earle Peter! God bless you both.

Dental appointment!

Yesterday was quite the day, I was up at 5:30 at work by 7:00. I was suppose to work until 3:30, but asked the boss I had a dental appointment in another town and it takes me about 40 minutes when all the conditions are right. I made the ramp onto the hiway only to find they were putting new pavement down and of course you could not exit so it took forever and I had an OPP officer in his car right behind me. When we finally got past the construction zone I pulled over into the righ lane immediatley and boy did he go flying by apparently he had to be somewhere in a hurry. The dental appoinment went fine, just a cleaning today and all was well with my teeth.
When I got home I had to let the dog out and then my dear friend Trish and I went out for dinner (fish and chips) My DH was away for a couple of days. So I was free as a bird. It was very good.
Today was a good day, all the grandchildren came for dinner and that is always a lot of fun.
On my way to a good night's sleep, one more day and then I have the week end off. Hope to blog again on the weekend, stay tuned!
