Earle P. Buzzell
In Flander's Fields the poppies grow
November 11th is the day we always gathered as a family to join in the church parade at my husbands parents church in London, Ontario at St. Stephen's Anglican to watch my Father-in-law carry the Canadian flag into the church with the bag pipes playing. It was always a very emotional and moving ceremony for us and for him I am sure. When the buglar played taps there was never a dry eye in the congregation.
Earle has been gone for over a year now and we miss him so very much but it is always a very sad day for us when November 11th arrives. He was quite silent about his war years. There were a few stories, but not many. He was our hero in life and he will remain our hero forever. So many of our veterens have passed, may they forever rest in peace. God bless them. Thank you to everyone of them for everything that they did for us I know our family is forever gratefull.
