Happy New Year

New Years Eve in New York city, I have always wanted to be in Times Square for all the festivities, but I guess it is just as well to watch from my living room. I wonder hoe many bathrooms are available to all those people. But it sure would be fun!

Happy New Year everyone, Christmas seemed to be over in a flash and now one more day and we will all be celebrating oue New Year! Our good friends Deb and Channing will be arriving about 3:00 tomorrow. They are bringing their dogs and they are staying the night. No worrying about driving home. We can go to bed whenever and can sleep in on Saturday. That works for me.

All the best to everyone, have a very nice New Years Eve.

Where have 24 years gone?

Today I was leafing through some old photo albums and look what I found, a photo of our stitching group which is called The Stitching Sisters. Some I am sad to say are no longer with us. Some are 24 years older and I am happy to say are still stitching. Every year we take a photo at Christmas time and sometimes at other times of the year. We have gained some members and lost some. At the moment we have enough members that we moved our meetings from our homes to to recreation centre in town. We meet at the board room every other week.

Second row Ida, Sarah, Sarah's Dorothy, Marjorie, and Jayne

We have formed great friendships we have been through good times and bad times. We always come together in a crisis. We have learned to treat each other as true sisters.

Merry Christmas everyone!

My Home Town!

Hi everyone, this time of year always takes me back to my home town, Magog, Quebec, Canada. My DH and I have been in Ontario for almost thirty years and we love living here. But Christmas time always makes us homesick. It would be so nice just one year to go back at at Christmas and be able to visit with relatives and to see all our very good friends that we have still living there, especially Brenda and Richard and Gerry and Lorraine. Maybe one day when DH and I are both retired we put that on our to do list. Working in retail I have never been able to have time off at Christmas. Magog is a small town it is a tourist town with lots of skiing and skidooing in the winter time and in the summer golfing, swimming, and horseback riding. For now I will enjoy my memories and hopefully in the spring I can go back hopefully taking my son-in-law Steven and my grandaughter Maddison. They have never been and it is time for them to make the trip.

 Mount Orford
 Lake Memphremagog
A covered bridge in Fitch Bay, DH and I have our initials carved inside.
When I was a teenager I road a horse through this bridge. We had a trail ride around
                                                                           the lake.
What a fun filled week that was!
A view of the lake looking towards Vermont

A map of my home turf
A view from the top of Mount Orford
St. Benoit du Lac and in the backround Jay Peak
This is St. Luke's Anglican Church where DH and I were married 38 years ago.

A view of St. Benoit du Lac and JayPeak in the fall!

Hope everyone enjoys my photos. I am too tired to stitch, so I thought I would share my home town with you. Let me know what you think?

I am back!

Hi everyone, I am finally back on line. Redecorating our computer room took  longer than expected and it is still not complete, but my grandparents roll top desk is partially together. The bottom half is supporting my computer the roll top is still on the floor. Hopefully it will get together this week end. It will depend on whether my DH works this week end or not. I work in retail so my life is pretty crazy these days too.
Can you believe I work in retail and I have only bought three presents? Am I crazy? I just can't seem to get in the mood for shopping this year. I am going to have to get myself in gear and get going soon or there are going to be some very unhappy children and grandchildren this year.

Tonight my dear grandson Benjamin has invited us to a Scout Christmas dinner. So DH and I will be off to see what goes on at a Scout dinner. Keep in mind I have two daughters so we have always been involved in Brownies and Girl Guides. I am sure Scouts will be pretty much the same.

My grandaughter Chloe is in The Air Cadets and we have a dinner coming up with her group at The Armories, that will be interesting as well. She just received her uniform and she looks very grown up in it.

I have missed everyone in my blogging community and I am so glad to be back.
